The front side depicts the Crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ. On both sides of Him stands in the deesis the Most Holy Theotokos and the holy prophet and Forerunner of the Lord John the Baptist, who have special boldness before God to pray for all people. Above is the Holy Trinity, an image of the appearance of the Triune God to the forefather Abraham. On the ear of the cross is depicted the Miracle Image of the Lord Jesus Christ, revered as one of the most powerful protective symbols of Orthodoxy. On the back in the center there is an icon of the Archangel Michael. The mighty Archangel leads the Heavenly Host in its confrontation with the dark forces. In the heavenly army there are Guardian Angels of people and saints. They help people defend themselves from enemies and conduct spiritual warfare. Around the icon of the Archangel a troparion to the Life-Giving Cross is written: “We worship Your Cross, O Master, and we glorify Your holy resurrection.”
