On September 11, 1943 a faceted glass was invented. On this day the first Soviet faceted glass was produced at the oldest glass factory in Russia in the city of Gus-Khrustalny. The design of the Soviet-style faceted glass is attributed to V.I. Mukhina, the author of the monumental composition "Worker and Kolhoz Woman" ", but there is no documentary evidence of this. Faceted glasses are still produced and are used in catering establishments, as well as in passenger trains (usually with a Tea Glass Holder).
