The front side depicts the Crucifixion of our Lord Jesus Christ. A small dove, a symbol of the Holy Spirit, hovers above the Crucifix. At the base of the Cross lies the skull of Adam, which, according to legend, was washed by the blood of Christ, thereby symbolically washing away the sins of all mankind. The abbreviation ML RB means “Place of frontal paradise.” Christ, by His sacrifice, opened the gates of paradise, and the place of execution, that is, Golgotha, also became paradise.
On the back of the cross is written the beginning of the prayer to the Honest Cross.
